The Shapes Story

Shapes Health Club was first established in 1980 and was the only gym in the area. Because the owners had to start from scratch, there was a very limited range of equipment available to members. Over the years the various owners have continued to invest into the Club to expand its services and equipment offerings.
In September 2008, the decision was made to invest in a bigger premise. We felt we needed to move premises to accommodate changing requirements and to create a more efficient, more productive and more spacious environment for our members.
With a great team of people the Club has been truly transformed and well on its way to achieving national excellence. Shapes has become an active participant in the local community and in the Fitness Industry in Western Australia and Australia. Supporting the community which supports Shapes has been a key ingredient to its success. The transformation of Shapes Health Club is largely a result of an agreement with The Fitness Generation and Nautilus Fitness Equipment in early 2007. Nautilus equipment is internationally acclaimed and has allowed Shapes members access to first class facilities. Our new and revitalized Club now provides a modern, fun and caring environment to work out in for people of all ages, genders, shapes and sizes.
We understand that working out in clean, well maintained facilities makes the whole fitness experience more enjoyable. When you’re a member at Shapes, you enjoy a warm, welcoming and non-intimidating environment where you can comfortably try different types of classes and equipment. Our helpful, approachable and friendly staff are all committed to meeting every ones individual needs.

Shapes Vision

There are three core areas that are our core capabilities which when done successfully will ensure that our objectives are met with ease. 

Leverage off Technology – using effective and efficient technology will enable us to identify and meet our members needs by ensuring their details and needs are recorded appropriately.  Through technology we can ensure that we communicate effectively with our members and design services and products which meet their needs.

Organisational Development & Communication – Our team is of upmost importance and occupies the centre of the house.  Developing our team both personally and professionally is important to ensuring the success of our vision.  As we can not read each others minds, we ensure that we communicate our needs, wants and goals at all times and celebrate our achievements.

Strong Supply Chain & Community Development Partners – We strongly believe if we support our community, it will support us back.  This also relates to our suppliers who play a huge part in ensuring that we can continue to meet our members needs.  We believe in developing these relationships to ensure they are strong for the future.

Focus on member satisfaction – We are in business to meet our members needs and exceed their expectations.  By continuing to request feedback from our members we will ensure that we evolve and provide solutions which match our members.

Excellence in Systems & Standards – Our systems and standards that we create is the glue in the business which ensure that we all know what is going on at all times.  The systems and standards are balancing on the Organisational Development and Communication block of the business showing the important relationship between having the right people in the business and the strength of our systems.


Effective and Consistent Marketing & Sales – we need to consistently tell people about who we are and what we do to ensure they understand our services and facilities and what makes us different.

We are in business to build lasting relationships with our members and ensure that they achieve results which improve their life. 
These results are varied from weight loss, muscle gain, improved mobility and functionality of their body to increased self esteem and social confidence.  We want to educate people about living a healthy and happy lifestyle.
