What’s involved?Shapes Boot Camp
As a group you meet three times a week. When you commence your Bootcamp membership, you can choose to participate in either the AM Regiment or PM Regiment Classes but not both. Instructors will be taking you through various activities including running, push ups, sit ups, sometimes using equipment such as boxing gloves, coppers logs or tyres. Bootcamp is fantastic for burning fat, strength training and getting fit fast. The instructor is there to encourage and motivate you and will try to push you out of your comfort zone. Everyone is expected to attend an appraisal to begin with and these are held at Shapes health Club on the Saturday or Monday prior to commencement. You will need to book an appointment.

How do I enrol?
At the start and end of each six-week session, the trainers assess each person's health and fitness level. This includes measuring cardiovascular exercises, muscular strength and endurance including the Beep Test. These measurements allow participants and instructors set training goals together and measure progress over the course of the session. Instructors also review any injuries and discuss rehabilitation issues for each person participating in the program.

What do we do?
Taking this assessment data into account, instructors are then able to group everyone based on fitness levels. Each person is challenged at a level that is just right for them. Groups are kept small, which allow trainers to give personal attention to everyone in the class. Each day is a different workout, and over the course of a week workouts will include a combination of cardio training (long distance running, short hill workouts, sprinting on the track, running stairs, etc.) cross-training (agility), and strength training (push-ups, pull-ups, abdominal workouts). Each class begins and ends with stretching.

How many in each group?
We take between 15-30 people.

When does is it all start?
Bootcamp runs in six week blocks. It continues throughout the year with one week break between blocks.

Where are the sessions held?
Shapes Health Club 2948 Albany highway Kelmscott

What if I can’t make a session?
You are paying for the program as a whole and if you can not attend a session or don’t show up we don’t do make up sessions or refund. The session will still take place. Rain, Hail or Shine! Bootcamp is disciplined and as a group you achieve goals together.

What are the qualifications of the Bootcamp Instructors?
Each of the instructors has either a degree in Sports Science or Certificate III or Certificate IV in Gym Instruction and/or Personal Training from TAFE. They all hold a Senior First Aid Certificate and carry a First Aid Kit during all sessions. Smart, certified, educated and empathetic: that's the profile of every BootCamp Instructor. We're here to make sure you get a safe, challenging workout! You might even enjoy yourself. (Yes, such a thing is possible at 6 AM. You might be surprised by what's possible with some fresh air, fun people and plenty of well-earned endorphins.)
